What is a Suffix Plate?
Suffix plates were the standard issue from 1963 to 1983. They feature three random letters, followed by 1-3 numbers, and finish with a single letter that indicates the year of issue (e.g., CAR 123L). They are often used as a clever way to hide the true age of a car, making it look much older.

What year are Suffix registrations from?
Suffix plates were issued from February 1963 up to August 1983. The final letter of the plate tells you the year, starting with ‘A’ for 1963/64.
