Prefix plates started in 1983, reversing the old Suffix style. They start with a letter for the age, followed by 1-3 numbers, then three random letters (e.g., A123 REG). They’re brilliant for spelling out names or words!

What year are Prefix registrations from?
Prefix plates were issued from August 1983 up to August 1987. The first letter of the plate tells you the year, like ‘A’ for 1983/84.
Why Are Some Prefix Letters Not Used?
