Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Reggit website (reggit.co.uk) and all purchases of personalised number plates and related services from us. Please read them carefully before placing an order. By placing an order or using our site, you agree to these Terms.

Who We Are

We are Reggit, an official DVLA Registered Number Plate Supplier (RNPS). We design, manufacture, and supply road-legal personalised number plates in the UK, and we handle the DVLA assignment/transfer process on your behalf where requested. Our plates are 100% DVLA-compliant and built to current British Standards (BS AU 145e or the latest applicable standard).

1. Definitions

– “Plate” or “Number Plate” means the physical DVLA-approved personalised registration plate (including 3D gel-resin or 4D laser-cut options) that we manufacture and supply.

– “Registration” means the vehicle registration mark (e.g. A123 REG, R3GG1T) you purchase from us.

– “Assignment/Transfer” means the process of legally transferring the Registration to your vehicle via the DVLA, including paperwork handling.

– “You”/“Your” means the customer placing the order.

2. Our Contract with You

– These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any order confirmation, form the entire agreement between you and us.

– A contract is formed when we send you a written order confirmation (email). Until then, we have not accepted your order.

– All plates are made-to-order and personalised. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you do not have the usual 14-day cooling-off/cancellation right once we have begun manufacturing or processing your order (which starts immediately upon confirmation).

3. Your Order and Eligibility

– You must be at least 18 years old and a UK resident.

– You must own or be the registered keeper (or have permission from the registered keeper) of a UK-registered, taxed, and MOT-compliant vehicle that is eligible for the chosen Registration (e.g. age restrictions such as no “newer-looking” plate on an older vehicle).

– It is illegal to display the Registration on any vehicle before the DVLA has officially completed the transfer.

4. Price, Payment and Price Matching

– The price shown on our site at the time of order is the price you pay (inclusive of VAT and any DVLA fees we collect on your behalf).

– We offer price matching against any identical DVLA-approved plate from another RNPS seller (proof required at time of order; excludes finance or promotional offers).

– We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout.

– Pay in 3 with 0% finance: This is provided by a third-party finance provider (e.g. Klarna or similar). Finance is subject to status, eligibility checks, and their separate terms. We act only as an introducer. You must be 18+ and meet the provider’s criteria. Full details are shown at checkout.

– Full payment (or finance approval) is required before we begin manufacturing or processing the DVLA assignment.

5. Delivery and Assignment/Transfer Process

– Physical plates: Made and dispatched from the UK. Standard UK delivery is fast (typically within a few working days of manufacture). We use tracked, premium packaging. International delivery is not currently offered.

– DVLA assignment/transfer: We handle the paperwork for you. You must supply accurate documents within the timeframe stated in your order confirmation (usually within 7–14 days). Required documents typically include:

  • V5C registration document (log book)
  • Proof of address (recent utility bill)
  • Photo ID (driving licence or passport)
  • Any other documents requested by the DVLA or us

– Once we receive cleared payment and correct documents, we submit to the DVLA. The full process can take up to 12 weeks (though usually much faster).

– If the transfer cannot be completed due to reasons outside our control or your error/incomplete documents, we will notify you. You remain responsible for ensuring the Registration is assigned before any DVLA certificate expiry date (if applicable). Failure to assign before expiry results in permanent loss of the Registration – we accept no liability for this.

6. Cancellations, Refunds and Returns

– Because plates are custom-manufactured and the Registration is personalised, orders are non-cancellable and non-refundable once confirmed, except in the following limited cases:

  • The Registration is unavailable or rejected by the DVLA through no fault of yours → full refund.
  • The transfer is not completed within 12 weeks of us receiving full payment and correct documents → full refund on written request.
  • Manufacturing defect in the physical plate (reported within 14 days of delivery) → free replacement or refund at our discretion.
  • Custom 3D/4D plates and any personalised elements are non-returnable.
  • Finance cancellations must be handled directly with the finance provider.

7. Our Liability

– We warrant that the plates we supply are road-legal, DVLA-compliant, and manufactured to the required British Standard.

– Our total liability to you shall not exceed the price paid for the Plate and Registration.

– We are not liable for:

  • Any delay caused by the DVLA, postal services, or events outside our reasonable control (force majeure).
  • Loss of the Registration due to your failure to provide documents or assign it before expiry.
  • Any indirect or consequential loss (e.g. loss of use of your vehicle).
  • Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

8. Intellectual Property and Plate Design

– All designs, images, and content on our site belong to us or our licensors. You may not reproduce them without permission.

– We grant you a limited licence to use the supplied plates only on your eligible vehicle in accordance with DVLA rules.

9. Data Protection and Privacy

We process your personal data (including ID documents) strictly in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law (UK GDPR). You consent to us sharing necessary information with the DVLA and our manufacturing partners to fulfil your order.

10. General

– These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

– If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, the rest remain in force.

– We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your order will apply.

– These Terms do not affect any rights you may have against the DVLA or finance provider directly.
